He's here!!!

Introducing...Jevan James Squires...born November 22nd...at 11:24 am...weighing 6lb 8oz 19.5 in long. Although he surprised us being born four weeks early and breach..he is here and healthy! We are adjusting well to parenthood and loving every minute of it! I will post more pictures soon...we have been soaking it all in and enjoying our new little family!

Church Baby Shower

Here are some pictures from the baby shower...It was so much fun! It was a little different being on the other side...and having the party thrown for me, but none the less tons of fun! We got so many cute things for our precious son! Thank you Jess, Gram and April for a wonderful shower!!! And a huge thanks to everyone who was able to make it! We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!

Baby Squires in 4D

Here he is...isn't he so precious! We had our 4D ultrasound today and it was so amazing! He is doing well and growing so much everyday. His heart rate was a strong 148. He moved around a lot and even got to see him with the hiccups (and of coarse I got to feel them). I loved being able to feel him move and see him at the same time. I have been consistent the last two appointments with measuring further along, although not enough to change the due date at this time. I will go back in 3 weeks and then every two weeks after that...I cannot believe I am already at that stage...man how time flies. He will be here before we know it...and I can't wait to hold him!

Babymoon

We went to Amish country for our babymoon, and had a wonderful time. There was so much to do, and no pressure to do any of it. We went to their town wide rummage, shopped at antique shops, ate way too much, and spent a day at the Great Pumpkin Patch. It was great to get away and reflect on our lives and look forward to our future.

Update!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...things have been crazy busy but none the less full of excitement! I went to the doctor and had a routine check up at the end of August...both mommy and baby are doing great! September 24th I go for my complimentary 4D ultrasound, and I am so excited to get a glimpse of what he looks like.

Over Labor Day weekend we had a cookout/baby shower for Barb and Kyle. We had tons of fun and ate lots of food. She got some really nice things for my sweet little niece! I can't wait for us to get together when our babies are born...they thought I was camera happy before...they haven't seen nothing yet! :)

Poke and I are taking our babymoon this weekend...We decided to take this time to get away, enjoy each other, reflect on our lives, and look forward to what is yet to come. :)

I have had several requests to post where we are registered at for our up coming showers...not a bad idea...so here you go!

Video clip of the ultrasound!

Here is a little video clip of the ultrasound...didn't capture much...but I wanted Poke to experience this with me, and not behind the camera...the whole time anyways. :) The clip is of when the technician was pointing out that he was a boy. His current weight is 12 ounces and his heart rate was 150bpm.

It's a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this 4D image...after awhile he put his little chubby hand across his face. I think he was trying to tell us something...he had enough! :)

This is one of the 4D images. Hopefully you can make it out. He his lying straight up and down, with his hands up by his chin. If you look close you can see him smiling! When we were doing the ultrasound she switched it to 4D just for fun. We wont actualy get our official complimentary session until 28 weeks, and the photos will be in color. This is the first 4D image that we saw of him, and I made the comment how cute he is...and he smiled, she was able to capture the moment. Talk about pulling the heart strings! I love him so much already!!!!

First Baby Shower

Ms. Donna (gram), Ms. Anne, and Ms. Susan's Sunday school class hosted a surprise baby shower for us!!! There were games, cupcakes, and presents...if was a lot of fun to see the kids get excited over the baby, and probably the only baby shower the boys will ever attend! :) Thank you to them for putting this together! We are blessed to have so many special people in our lives!

Update - 07/10/09

We got great news from the doctor this morning, my blood work came back normal...Praise God!!! Which means out of the 40 birth defects they test for, the baby does not have any of them (to include my birth defect, spina bifida, which was a risk of me passing down). We would have loved it either way, but a blessing that it is healthy. So this means the next doctor's appointment wont be until August, when we will find out what our little miracle is. I will try to get more pictures up soon. Especially of this wonderful new figure I am sporting these days...lol...things are definitely getting tighter.

Happy Fourth of July

Went to the doctor on Friday and all went well. The baby's heart beat was 162. I'm am going in on Monday for blood work, to rule out birth defects. Although this test is optional, he strongly recommended it due to my history of spina bifida (which increases the chance the baby will have it.) So please remember us in your prayers, as I will keep you all posted on the results.
Stay tuned we get an ultrasound on August 1st to determine the sex!!!!

Update

I thought I would set up this blog to help keep family and friends updated and involved in our journey to parenthood. I will do my best to keep it up to date! Today June 29th I am 15 weeks and 1 day. The last doctor's visit I had was on June 05th and the heartbeat was strong at 168 bpm. We are getting super excited planning and preparing for the arrival of our new little one. Our next doctor's visit will be July 3rd...where we will set the date to have our ultrasound to determine the sex :) ...we will keep you posted!!!

Keith Urban Concert

The baby's first concert...and yes those are my pink fingers nails in the photo :)...he came off the stage to our row and stood on a table and sang a song...what are the odds...I thought I would for sure go into labor!!!

First shopping trip!

Although I did not manage to capture all the jumping up and down, hugging, laughter, screams and tears of joy, after we told our families...I did manage to capture one aftermath! Peggy wrote it on the side of her new shop in paint...too funny :) (we were at her painting party when we told them.)

First ultrasound

May 7th 11:30 am...First ultrasound...before heading home to tell our families on Mother's Day! (7weeks and 4days) It looks like a gummy bear! The end on the right with the dark spot in it, is its head.
